Service Description
Course description: this course teaches how to perform CPR, choking relief and how to use an AED. It also includes the proper use of barrier devices for ventilation and how to activate emergency response services. It is aimed at lay rescuers or those with minimal medical training that are expected to respond to emergencies in their workplace, specific occupation and/ or those requiring certification for OHS purposes. This includes (but is not limited to) security personnel, firefighters, lifeguards, law enforcement officers, swimming coaches, teachers, health and fitness personnel, employees in the retail industry etc. Students will receive a manual to review before, during and after the course. Testing and certification: participants need to pass both the written test (15 MCQ questions) and the skills test (3 skills) before they will receive an RCSA certificate of competence in CPR, choking relief and AED use. Course duration: 4 hours CPD accreditation: 4 CPD points Cost: R600 per person
